8.44pc decline in import of CKD cars |

KARACHI, March 16: Pak Suzuki produced 114,214 cars and light commercial vehicles in 2006 as compared to 86,421 units in 2005. The board of directors of Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) in its meeting held on March 14 approved the financial results of the year ending December 31, 2006 and issue of 50 per cent bonus shares to its shareholders. Exclusive body for auto sector proposed |
ISLAMABAD, March 17: A Japanese researcher Yasuhiko Shinagawa has proposed establishment of exclusive organisation for development of auto sector in Pakistan . He was speaking in a seminar arranged by Engineering Development Board (EDB) in collaboration with JICA here on Saturday. Mr Shinagawa is a senior researcher at Japan Development Company Service Ltd and member of JICA Mission. (more...)

Sale of buses, bikes drops with surge in cars, trucks |
KARACHI, March 19: The entire auto sector gave a mixed performance showing decline in buses and motorcycle sales by 3.2 per cent and 10.6 per cent, respectively, while sales of cars, truck, light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and farm tractors surged by 6.8, 1.03, 16.2 and 7.47 per cent, respectively, in July-February 2006-07 as compared to the same period of last fiscal.
